Respite, acrylic on collage, 36″x48″
$3,500.00
When I began this piece, I wanted it to feel like childhood—bright, curious, and full of life. I pictured Christ as the center of that joy, surrounded by children from every background and circumstance, each one welcomed and loved.
The tree represents life and growth; the doves and flowing water symbolize peace and renewal. I painted children of different cultures and abilities because I believe His invitation, “Let the children come unto me,” extends to every soul. Some of our struggles are visible, some are not—but all are seen by Him.
As I worked, I kept thinking about how He meets each of us where we are. No matter what our maladies are—physical, emotional, or spiritual—when we come to Him as little children, He fills our lives with beauty and peace.
This piece is a visual reminder that His love is inclusive, infinite, and deeply personal.
