Doing this piece felt like doing family history–my great grandmother’s house on my mother’s side has been a place where we’ve gathered year after year in Idaho. The farmland and old home were sold off last year, and so this painting stands as a memorial to it. It’s fun to romanticize what my great grandmother was like–from what my mom says, she was quite wonderful.
