There is something magically beautiful about a storm when one can get past the danger of it. In this piece, the surface is unnervingly beautiful enough, but getting a view of what lurks beneath may be even more foreboding. I made this painting somewhere in the thick of the pandemic, and it was amazing how quickly it came together. My stormy emotions were close to the surface. Now that the storm is calming, I can look back and see the beautiful things that happened during the pandemic a little better.
